Abbotsford, British Columbia - The Abbotsford Heat defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-3 in a shootout at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre on Friday night. Krys Kolanos scored a goal and added one in the shootout while Dustin Sylvester recorded a goal and an assist for Abbotsford.
The Heat opened the scoring at 2:59 of the first period on a power play goal by Kolanos. Guillaume Desbiens dropped the puck to Ben Walter who passed the puck to Kolanos in front of the net. The point-blank shot by Kolanos bounced off the pad of Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Nathan Lawson and dribbled into the back of the net.
The Bulldogs tied the score at 7:19 of the opening frame on a goal by Gabriel Dumont. Joonas Nattinen gained the offensive zone and fed a behind-the-back pass to Dumont who made a move in front of the net before firing the puck past Abbotsford Heat starting goaltender Danny Taylor.

After taking a pass from Paul Byron, Sylvester whipped a one-time shot which beat Lawson through the legs. The Heat tied the score at 13:17 of the third stanza on a goal by Clay Wilson.
