Rivermen Sign Radja, Edwards to PTO

Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced Saturday that the club has signed forward Mike Radja and defenseman Maury Edwards to professional tryout contracts.
Radja, 26, has recorded 14 goals, 12 assists and 16 penalty minutes while appearing in 24 games with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL this season. Radja also played three games for the Binghamton Senators of the AHL this season, recording one assist and two penalty minutes.
The Yorkville, Ill. native has tallied 23 goals, 28 assists and 40 penalty minutes in 110 career AHL games including stints with Syracuse, Rockford and Bridgeport. Prior to his professional career, he attended the University of New Hampshire from 2004-08 where he scored 54 goals, 63 assists and 98 penalty minutes in 149 games played.
Edwards, 24, has played 19 games for the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL this season in which he has recorded two goals, six assists and six penalty minutes.
Last season, Edwards finished his four-year career at UMass-Lowell before playing for both the Providence Bruins and Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL. In three games with Providence, he accumulated two penalty minutes. With Lake Erie, Edwards scored one goal, one assist and four penalty minutes in six games.
Both players are expected to join the Rivermen for their game tonight against Toronto at 7:00 p.m. at Carver Arena.
